Harbin Flood Control Memorial Tower

Harbin flood control memorial tower was built the first of October on 1958, It is  for remembering Harbin citizens beat the worst flood of 57 years,

It built by Russian engineer and Harbin engineer together, the tower tall is 22.5 meters,

The tower bottom made by stone, meaning it is strong and indestructible

In front of tower is fountain, signs brave and wisdom Harbin citizens that taming the stormy river water into soft and beautiful water to benefit people.

The bottom of tower you can read different years flood level 1932, 1957

Now the tower is Harbin landmark, it is at the end of Zhongyang Pedestrain street.also it is people entertainment place.

1957 flood history, the big rain rain 45 days, heilongjian province and Jilin province total 100million people work on flood, over one month fighting against flooding, it was final victory with the flood. This worst flood, 400 thousand people hurt, 81 people dead.
